We don't know about you, but we are happy that the world is opening up again.
LBI is in full summer swing and the beaches are as beautiful as ever.
We watched as a young couple added the orange windsock to "our" bench in early May.
We hope it is still there when you visit.
It's a colorful way to tell which way the wind is blowing.
We spent every weekend at the house in May getting it ready for our first guests. So much to do and so little time this year. The Mayor had requested no "visiting" during March and April -this made our job of opening up the house a little tricky. Nevertheless... the house is ready, and we are happy our guests will be able to enjoy visiting this summer, and hope they love the improvements we've made. The picture above was taken two weekends ago (May 16). We heard a strange noise and went out on the deck to see what it was. These two guys were sailing through the air back and forth along the beach. The noise was a fan attached to what looked like a chair that they were sitting on. They were so much fun to watch -- you won't catch one of us trying this out -- that's for sure !
We also watched while a guy stood on a skim board and was pulled by a smaller but similar parachute. He was going so fast it was tough to get a photo. It was a busy weekend for sure. Last weekend the beaches were as full as ever and dotted with colorful umbrellas. We still had screens to replace and gardens to weed, so sadly we didn't get to spend any time on the beach.
