President's Weekend on LBI

As always, LBI was hopping on President's weekend. So many of our neighbors were in checking on their houses and walking on the beach. The weather was on the cool side, but mild enough to take a walk. The sun was shining and the peacefulness of winter on LBI was evident everywhere.

The beach grasses are brown now taking a break from the hot summer sun as they gather the strength in their root systems to hopefully sprout even more blades of grass this spring. Below you can see a mix of "footprints" left by people, dogs and fishermen's trucks that we took at the end of the day as the sun was beginning to set.

We are continuing to make improvements to Ocean View, and we just ordered two new bunkbeds complete with trundles for each of the twin bedrooms. This will free up some floor space in those rooms and provide a third bed. They should arrive in April, just in time for the upcoming season. We plan to have new photos taken of the house this spring... so stay tuned.

The high season is nearly full with just a couple of weeks open. We are so sorry for those of you who were unable to book your particular week, and hope that next year works out for you. It continues to amaze us how early people plan their vacations. We are looking forward to seeing our returning guests and meeting our new visitors this season. Spring is coming and before long summer will follow, and we are eagerly awaiting their arrival !
